Castles at Lake Constance

Wherever you go or look you will see a endless number of castles around the Lake Constance. Some in beautyfull conditions and other are only ruins.

Meersburg is Germanies oldest castle where people are living. Over the Lake Constance it enthroned as a postcard motif and haven't lost with the upgrading in the 17th and 18th  century the magic of the middle ages. The Hohentwiel is one of the largest ruins in Germany and is a important culture and nature-monument. If you arrive the landscape via the highway A81, you will see at the "Hegaublick" (last service area on the highway) a first impression of the huge number of castles and ruins near lake constanz.

Some castles are difficult to find - hidden in the middle of a town like the "Österreichisches Schlösschen" at Radolfzell.
