536 km² surface of the water give you a lot of place and possibilities to choose between different watersports.

Diving, swimming, surfing, sailing, waterski and much more are possible at Lake Constance. With all joy about the sport you should not underrate the nature: especially in the summertime the weather can change fast and the easy fun can come to a dangerous situation.

The foehn (a strong, warm falling wind) is strongest in the east part of the lake. Weather sensitive people can feel the upcomming foehn with headache or they feel dizzy.

People, which are born here, often doesn't fell the foehn but can see at the sky - they recognise it by the form of the clouds. Also you feel a warm wind and the alps seems verry close to the lake.

If it is foehn you must have a look for the weather. Very fast the foehn can break and the bad weather is here. The temperature go down very fast. In spring and fall often you have snow in the mountains after this changing.

On the water you have a lot of strong gusts. Coming from the east end of the lake the gusts turn to the west and loosing here power more and more.
